FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How often do i need to check or update my wof?
You might be wondering 'When is my WOF due?' A Warrant of Fitness is required every six months for vehicles 6 years or older in NZ, and every 12 months for newer vehicles. Get in touch with Parnell Motors when your WOF expiry date is approaching.
Can I drive my car without a current wof?
It's illegal to drive your car without a valid Warrant of Fitness, or a valid WOF sticker displayed. You cannot drive your car until you get a new WOF. You can only drive the vehicle (if it is safe to do so) when driving to get it repaired, or to get a WOF check done.
Can I get My vehicle WOF done at the same time as my car service?
Yes, in fact we recommend getting your WOF inspection done at the same time as you service your car, as a vehicle WOF doesn't cover all aspects of your car, such as the engine, clutch, gearbox, lubricant levels, etc. Combining your WOF check with your regular car service saves you time and money and ensures your vehicle safety is top notch.
What happens if I fail My WOF Inspection?
If our inspector finds any issues with your vehicle that would cause it to fail the inspection, we can do the repair work onsite quickly and efficiently. Your vehicle will be re-inspected on the spot, and your Warrant of Fitness issued.
How long does a WOF take?
We understand that our customers are busy, so we aim to complete all WOF checks as quickly as possible. Generally, a vehicle WOF takes between 30 and 60 minutes to complete.
How do I get a WOF?
If you're a new motorist, you might be wondering how to get a WOF. Just contact our friendly team and and we'll get your vehicle booked in for a warrant of fitness in Auckland, taking care of all the details so you don't have to.
